When will you start hiring for positions in the new retirement residence, Canterbury Gardens and how do I apply?
Anyone wishing to apply for a position at Canterbury Gardens may send a resume to our Human Resources department at any time for review when we begin the hiring process. The building is scheduled to open in the late fall of 2008 with the expectation that the recruitment process will begin mid-to-late summer. Watch for job ads in the local newspapers and for dates for Job Fairs.

Do opportunities exist for periodic salary increases due to market adjustments and individual performance?
We evaluate our employee's performance on an annual basis and reviews our salary ranges for all jobs annually to ensure they are market competitive and adjust them accordingly. We have a performance-based compensation system.

Does AON offer opportunities for career promotion?
AON became one of the top healthcare companies by acknowledging the talent and potential of our employees. Many of our nurse managers, executive directors, and other managers began their careers with AON upon graduation.

How does AON invest in the development of its staff?
Bursaries
Bursaries are available to employees in good standing who have demonstrated the initiative to further their education in a work-related program.

Tuition Assistance
Tuition assistance is available after one year of continuous employment depending upon the employee's potential for advancement, department workload, availability of time for the employee to be off work, and program cost and budget availability.
Professional Development
We promote professional development through seminars and courses held internally and provide tuition and expenses to attend seminars, workshops and conferences externally that will enhance skills that can be immediately applied within their role at AON. He also offer rotational and special job assignments to broaden experiences.

What kind of work environment can I expect to be offered?

Our corporate office is situated in downtown Peterborough and our Port Hope golf course has a breathtaking view of Lake Ontario.
