Executive Director (Retirement) / Administrator (LTC)

The Executive Director/Administrator is responsible for the day to day operation of the retirement residence or long term care home, including the effective provision of resident services and achieving facility objectives in accordance with AON's overall Mission, Values, and Objectives. This individual must be a proven manager with demonstrated competence in managing human, fiscal, and physical resources. A Bachelor's degree in management or health services, or the equivalent experience required as well as be an energetic self-starter possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to innovative and progressive management. Knowledge of Ministry of Health Long Term Care legislation and regulations are required in a long term care environment as is a LTC Administration certificate.

Director of Care (DOC)

As a nurse manager with a passion for providing quality nursing care the Director of Care oversees the delivery of all health care services to the residents of the retirement or long term care community. The Director of Care leads our nursing team, develops individualized Care Plans, and oversees the delivery of excellent nursing care to our residents. As a member of our senior management team, the Director of Care has the ability influence the services we provide and the direction of the organization. The DOC must be a Registered Nurse and a minimum of five (5) years experience in a Retirement / Long Term Care setting, including at least three (3) years in a supervisory role. Innovation, sound judgment, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Current registration with CNO essential.

Registered Nurse (RN) - Full-time and Part-time

As a member of our management team you will supervise and coordinate the care given by our nursing staff and provide a complete spectrum of nursing services similar to those in long term care, including medication administration, complex continuing care, and an on-site physician's clinic. A current Ontario nursing license is essential. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Supervisory experience and prior experience in a retirement or long term care setting preferred but not necessary. You must be available to work shifts. Current registration with CNO essential.

Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) - Part-time

As part of our care team, you will be responsible to provide hands-on clinical nursing care including medication administration to our residents on a daily basis and assisting in the ADL's as required. You will maintain accurate records of nursing observations, make recommendations to the DOC re care plans and assist in the direction of care given by PSWs and HCAs. A current Ontario nursing license is essential. You must possess good communication and interpersonal skills, promote cooperation and positive relationships throughout the organization. You'll be a team player available to work all shifts, every other weekend and cover call-ins as needed. Current registration with CNO essential.

Personal Support Workers (PSWs or Health Care Aides (HCA) - Part-time

If you are an individual energized by working with older adults and who share a passion for truly making a difference in their lives, we want to hear from you. You must be certified as a Personal Support Worker or Health Care Aide with a caring, compassionate heart. Prior experience in a retirement or long term care setting is preferred but not essential. Must be energetic and have good communication skills. Must be available to work all shifts, every other weekend and be available for call-ins

Director of Resident & Family Services (LTC)

The Director of Resident & Family Services directly manages the activities/programming staff and volunteers and is responsible for the human, financial and equipment resources within the department. This individual is responsible for admitting all new residents and works closely with the CCAC and maintains community counseling linkages. It is also the DRFS's responsibility to ensure the smooth transition of the new residents to their new home. This individual provides confidential one-on-one and group counseling opportunities for residents and family members as well as bereavement and palliative care personal support services. Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.

Activities and Programming Staff

You will assist in the development and implementation of programs that provide a range of stimulating experiences to meet their physical / psychosocial needs. You will create programs that maximize variety and participation and enhance overall resident independence and well-being through purposeful recreational, rehabilitative, and restorative activities. A diploma in Recreation Leisure or Activation or equivalent is required. Specialization in gerontology preferred. You must have strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, have a customer service focus and a valid "F" driver's license. Basic computer skills and ability to supervise volunteers needed.

Dietary Supervisor

As Dietary Supervisor you would be responsible for providing a superior dining experience addressing resident nutritional needs. The Supervisor oversees the daily activities onsite, including the preparation and service of food to residents in accordance with established standards and has operational, budgetary, and administrative responsibilities.  S/he assists in the preparation of meals, and also supervises and directs the activities of staff when the Director is not present. Two (2) years experience in volume food cooking and preparation in a Hotel/Restaurant or institutional healthcare setting is required.  Culinary Management, Nutrition Management, Cook I or II designation or other related diploma from an accredited school is preferred. Familiarity with Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating, therapeutic diets, and current nutritional standards for geriatric populations would be an asset.  Basic computing skills required. Eligibility for membership in to the CSNM preferred.

Certified Cook

Your primary role will be to prepare high quality, nutritionally balanced meals for older adults. You will prepare meals, snacks and food for special events and catering as required, supervise the methods of food preparation and service, and direct the Dietary Aides in basic food preparation and meal service. You will participate in resident food meetings and interact with residents, guests, and family members professionally and courteously at all times. You must have a minimum of two years experience in volume food preparation in a hotel, restaurant or institutional setting. A Cook I or II designation from an accredited school is desired. You must be familiar with the Canada Food Guide for Healthy Eating, therapeutic diets, Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Point, WHMIS and OH&S standards. Supervisory experience and administrative skills would be beneficial.

Dietary Aide

You will assist in the preparation of meals, take individual orders, observe the procedures and time limits of serving and maintain food at proper serving temperatures. Will clear and set tables, assist in clean up and participate in proper storage and labeling of food products as set out in the Food Services Department's policies and procedures. You must have high school education and an ability to follow written and oral instruction. You must be dependable, responsible and willing to learn as well as possess good interpersonal skills and an outgoing personality. You must possess a Food Service Worker's certificate or be enrolled in the program. WHMIS certification and a Safe Food Handler's certificate would be assets. Must be able to lift 35 lbs. (female) or 50 lbs (male) and be available to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as required.

Environmental Services Supervisor

Reporting to the Director, the Supervisor is responsible for all Housekeeping, Laundry, Facility Maintenance, and Health and Safety matters. S/he ensures that buildings, grounds, resident spaces, and laundry services are maintained. The Supervisor works collaboratively with other departments to ensure resident needs are met while ensuring resident privacy is maintained. Must respond to after-hour calls as required.  The incumbent will have completed or be enrolled in a formal Environmental Services Management Program or Diploma and/or have three (3) years of related experience, preferably in a Retirement/LTC setting. Demonstrated supervisory capabilities, administrative abilities, problem solving, team work skills, and excellent communication skills are required. Working knowledge of HVAC systems / equipment, computerized building management systems, electrical systems, fire/life safety systems relevant codes and legislative requirements, and ability to read blueprints and drawings is preferred.  Basic computer skills required.  Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act and Ministry of Health standards beneficial.

Housekeeper / Laundry Attendant

As Housekeeper, you will be responsible for the complete cleaning of resident rooms, offices, and common areas. Duties include: dusting, vacuuming, cleaning windows, cleaning carpets, emptying garbage, making beds, and cleaning washrooms and kitchenettes. Additional duties include: snow removal, gardening, moving furniture, light maintenance duties, seasonal cleaning, kitchen cleaning, and floor cleaning. Position involves lifting and may be scheduled for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as well as to cover call-ins and vacations.

As Laundry Attendant, you will be responsible for performing all laundry services in the home. Duties include: sorting, washing, drying, folding and ironing/pressing personal laundry and linens, delivery of items. You would also be responsible for ensuring your work and resident laundry areas are kept clean. Involves lifting and may be scheduled for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as well as to cover call-ins and vacations.

Office Manager (LTC)

The Office Manager will be responsible for providing on-site clerical and personnel/payroll support for the LTC home and perform a variety of clerical and administrative tasks that ensure efficient operations of the business office including management of staff and resident files, invoicing, accounts receivable and reception duties as required. The Office Manager will be responsible for month-end reporting, and troubleshooting of minor computer problems acting as equipment services liaison. Will attend meetings and record and distribute minutes, monitor staff absences and process and maintain resident trust accounts and census records. Must possess a post secondary degree/diploma in business administration or accounting. Training/knowledge of computerized office systems/software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Access essential. Two years minimum relevant office experience required. Prior accounting and payroll experience preferred but not essential.

Unit Clerk/Administrative Assistant

The Administrative Assistant is the front line representative of the company providing professional reception duties and assistance in the functions of all day-to-day office activities, including efficiently managing of resident and employee files, professionally typing various documents, and maintaining resident accounts.  She coordinates the activities of the part-time desk clerks and ensures that the front-desk area is organized at all times. The Unit Clerk (in our long term care homes) may also be involved in scheduling care staff and filling vacancies resulting from call ins. Some after hour work may be required to cover special events.   This position requires a college diploma in Business or equivalent education and/or experience. A minimum of two to three years of experience in office administration is required. A strong knowledge of Microsoft software and aptitude for computers is essential as are excellent customer services skills.
