Health & Care Resources > Nutritional Care Nutrition is an important part of maintaining and enhancing an active, independent life - especially for older adults. At The Gardens of Peterborough , good meals also mean good nutrition. Our commitment is to provide a comfortable and healthy lifestyle by coordinating your nutritional and personal medical needs in a comprehensive Care plan. Upon your arrival at The Gardens, your individual nutritional needs are assessed and a care plan is developed to best meet your requirements. A nutritionist is an integral part of our Care-team and is responsible to coordinate with Nursing and other staff to ensure that all nutritional needs are met—and that individual tastes and preferences are satisfied. Wellness and Good Nutrition To ensure wellness and maintain maximum independence, we make sure that meals are well balanced and in accordance with "Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating".

Also, allergy awareness is important to you—and it is important to us. The Gardens' staff is trained to know what foods and ingredients contain common allergens so that we can better protect you! Each Dining Room attendant will know both your specific meal plan and special tastes in order to make your dining experience enjoyable—and safe.
